Content Moderation in Communities

Community admins now get an automatic first line of defense against spam and rule-breaking content. Posts and comments that match flagged keywords are held for review before they ever go live.

Set the words, phrases, or domains you don't want in your community. Any post or comment that matches a flagged keyword is automatically held back from the feed and sent to admins for review. Matching is case-insensitive - phrases are recommended over single words for precision.

A Suggested starter pack of common spam and scam phrases is included to help admins get started with one click. A "Try your rules" tool lets admins paste sample text to test whether it would be held, before anything goes live.

👀 Reviewer Screen

Flagged content lands in the Needs review tab. Admins can see exactly which keyword triggered the flag, preview the full post, and Approve & publish or Remove it in one click. Flagged content stays invisible to the rest of the community until an admin gives it the green light.

🚩 Reported by Members

Member-reported posts and comments now surface in their own Reported by members tab. Admins can see who reported the content, review the full thread, and choose to Keep or Remove it.

👤 Author Visibility

Authors still see their own pending post on their timeline with a clear "In review" status - full transparency, zero confusion. The post remains hidden from everyone else until approved.

🔔 Instant Notifications

Admins are notified via email, in-app, and push alerts the moment something is flagged - so nothing slips through unnoticed.

👑 Admins Post Freely

Content from admins and owners is never held up for review. Moderation rules apply only to member-generated content.

⚙️ How It Works

1. Navigate to Settings → Content Moderation.
2. In the Keywords tab, add your own flagged words/phrases or click Add starter pack to load common spam phrases.
3. Optionally, use the "Try your rules" tool to test sample text against your keywords.
4. When a matching post or comment is submitted, it's automatically held and appears in the Needs review tab.
5. Review, then Approve & publish or Remove.
6. Member-reported content surfaces separately under Reported by members.

🔎 Smarter Search Results

Search now handles typos, different phrasing, synonyms, and non-English or accented text - so members find the right post even when they don't type it exactly.

Results now rank by relevance instead of newest-first, so the best matches show up at the top.

Growing communities can't be moderated post-by-post forever. Content Moderation gives admins a scalable, automated way to enforce community guidelines from day one — holding problematic content before it reaches the feed, rather than cleaning up after.
